Savoury Tempeh Sate with Ketcap Sedang


Great easy dish for BBQ’s or just a simple light lunch. Add some lemon or lime juice and a drizzle of your favourite peanut sate sauce, and you have a delicious and quick savoury dish.


1 x 300gm block Mighty Bean 
Organic Savoury Soy Tempeh.
Vegetable, peanut or coconut oil for frying.

6 Bamboo Sate Sticks

Ketcap Sedang

1 lime or lemon

Coriander and chilli to garnish.
Peanut Sate Sauce (Optional)


1. Cut the MIGHTY BEAN “Organic Savoury Soy Tempeh” into six equal fingers across the block.

2. Cut each of these six fingers into cubes and thread onto sate sticks.

3. Baste tempeh cubes with oil to avoid drying out while cooking.

4. Place tempeh sate onto hot BBQ plate or sandwich grill and cook and turn till braised on all sides, basting with oil if needed to avoid drying out the tempeh. Cook till golden brown on both sides.

5. Place golden brown savoury sate tempeh sticks on serving dish.

6. Sprinkle lashings of Ketcap Sedang over the tempeh sate.

7. Sprinkle the juice of a whole lime
or half a lemon over the tempeh sate sticks and make sure all tempeh cubes are well coated by the combination of Ketcap Sedang and lime/lemon.

8. Garnish with chopped coriander and chilli to taste.
This recipe is ideal served on bed of yellow rice and tomato salsa garnished with peanut sate sauce (recipe suggestion)
